So, Christmas ten years ago. I remember it like yesterday. My Cupertino room-mates had deserted me to look after a mad German Shepherd and a very quiet New Year’s Eve was in the offing. I guess I must have been at work, hence this trip:
“A quick jaunt past Shoreline Lake this lunch-time revealed the usual suspects: goldeneyes; horned and eared grebes; Forster’s terns; and an incredibly laid-back greater yellowlegs. Salt Pond A2W held buffleheads, pintails, and yet more Forster’s terns.
“The highlight was a Say’s phoebe hunting in the rough grass the other side of the cycle track here – not what I would expect given the habitat.”
